The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum is located in the repurposed Heritage Listed building of the Gladstone Town Hall. Originally designed by Roy Chipps, a Rockhampton architect, the Town Hall building underwent modifications during its construction to serve as a community hall and theatre.
It was officially opened on September 15, 1934, and for more than forty years, it accommodated a diverse range of events such as flower shows, boxing matches, debutante balls, film screenings, immunisation clinics, amateur theatricals, and weddings.
The Gallery & Museum features four exhibition areas: the Town Hall Gallery, Front Gallery, Museum Room, and O'Connell Space. These spaces host a rotating array of art and historical exhibitions that are refreshed every 6 to 8 weeks.
